Every RV season has its own rhythm. There’s the excitement of the first trip, the learning curve of the road, and the quiet reflection that comes when you finally park the rig for the year. For us, 2025 was a defining year in our fifth wheel RV travel journey—one filled with miles, mistakes, friendships, and memories we’ll carry with us forever.

This season wasn’t about chasing perfection. It was about real RV travel, real experiences, and discovering what part-time fifth wheel living truly looks like.
Why We Chose Fifth Wheel RV Travel
When we stepped into 2025, we did it with a new rig and a fresh mindset. Our Keystone Avalanche 338GK fifth wheel gave us the space, comfort, and confidence to take longer trips while still balancing work, family, and life at home.
Fifth wheel RV travel has a way of slowing things down. It encourages longer stays, deeper connections, and a more intentional approach to travel—something we didn’t fully understand until this year.
Real Fifth Wheel RV Travel Experiences in 2025
RV Shakedown Trips and First Miles
Our season officially kicked off in early March with a shakedown trip to Bourne Scenic. Snow, cold mornings, and learning the quirks of a new fifth wheel made it the perfect reminder that RV travel doesn’t always start smoothly—but that’s part of the fun.
From there, Pine Lakes RV Resort in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, became our home base. It’s where weekend trips turned into routines, and routines turned into comfort.
Family, Food, and Campground Life
Normandy Farms brought a Memorial Day weekend filled with family, kids, lobster, steak dinners, and—of course—rain. It wasn’t perfect weather, but it was a perfect example of what RV camping is really about: being together, no matter the forecast.
Long-Distance Fifth Wheel RV Travel and Community
The Glamp Out: A Defining Trip

The highlight of our 2025 fifth-wheel RV travel season was, without question, The Glamp Out. A 12-day trip that combined long travel days, lakefront campsites, and one of the strongest senses of community we’ve ever experienced on the road.
Our campsite overlooked the lake through the massive rear window of our fifth wheel, creating mornings we’ll never forget. This trip reminded us that RV travel isn’t just about destinations—it’s about people.
From The Glamp Out, we headed to The Farm in London, Kentucky, where summer heat forced us to slow down and appreciate quiet afternoons by the pool. We wrapped that stretch at Camp Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge, reconnecting with friends and strengthening bonds that started online and became real around campfires.
RV Camping Along the East Coast and New England
Summer brought us back north with classic RV travel in New England. Cape Cod delivered coastal air, relaxed campground living, and reminders that incredible RV destinations don’t always require crossing state lines.
Maine, however, stole our hearts.
Quiet and Remote: Maine RV Travel
Schoodic Woods Campground offered something rare—true quiet. Remote, peaceful, and unplugged, it became our favorite place for rest and reflection. If relaxation is your goal in fifth wheel RV travel, this is the standard.
Florida RV Travel and a Bucket-List Finish
Our final fifth wheel RV trip of 2025 took us south to Auburndale, Florida, followed by St. Augustine for the famous Nights of Lights. Walking the historic streets, glowing with millions of lights, felt like the perfect ending to a season built on intention and gratitude.
When Fifth Wheel RV Travel Gets Hard
Let’s be honest—RV life isn’t always Instagram-perfect.
Despite owning a newer fifth wheel, 2025 came with its share of challenges:
- Road damage from rough highways
- A fridge shifting in transit
- Slide issues discovered at a fuel stop
- A microwave fan failure
- Furniture that wasn’t properly secured
- Trim literally falling off while driving
These moments were frustrating, especially when you’ve invested heavily in your rig. But they also taught us resilience. Fifth wheel RV travel isn’t about avoiding problems—it’s about learning to solve them and keep moving forward.
Fifth Wheel RV Travel by the Numbers
- 9,047 miles traveled
- Multiple multi-state trips
- Dozens of campgrounds
- One full year of documenting RV life on YouTube
- Countless friendships formed through the RV community
Not bad for part-time RV travelers.
Why We Document Our Fifth Wheel RV Travel
We don’t document our RV travel to chase numbers. We do it to celebrate life, capture memories, and share the real side of RV living. These videos and stories are for us, for our kids, and for anyone curious about what fifth wheel RV travel is actually like.
If you’re researching RV travel, considering a fifth wheel, or dreaming about part-time RV living, we hope our experiences help you feel more prepared—and more inspired.
Is Fifth Wheel RV Travel Worth It?
For us, the answer is yes—but not because it’s easy.
It’s worth it because of the people you meet.
Because of quiet mornings in unfamiliar places.
Because of lessons learned the hard way.
Because of memories that don’t fit into a suitcase.
Planning Our 2026 Fifth Wheel RV Travel Adventures
We’re heading into 2026 with fewer rigid plans and more room for exploration. Some events are already on the radar, and northern adventures may replace familiar routes. One thing is certain: we’ll keep traveling, connecting, and sharing the journey.
If you’re traveling through New England or exploring the East Coast in your RV, reach out—we’d love to meet you and swap stories.
Final Thoughts on Our 2025 Fifth Wheel RV Travel Season
2025 wasn’t about perfection.
It was about progress.
It was about community.
And it was about learning that fifth wheel RV travel is as much about who you meet as where you go.
Here’s to the miles behind us—and the road still ahead.
